How To Remove Upper Lip Hair Naturally
Turmeric and milk
- Thoroughly mix 1 tablespoon of turmeric and 1 tablespoon of milk in a small bowl.
- Once mixed, use your fingers to gently apply the mixture to your upper lip.
- Once fully dry after about 20 minutes, gently rub with wet fingers — in the direction opposite to your hair growth — until the dried paste is completely removed.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
Gelatin
- In a small microwave-safe bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin, 1½ teaspoons of milk, and 3 drops of lavender essential oil.
- Put the bowl into a microwave and heat on high for 12 seconds.
- While the mixture’s warm (not hot), use a popsicle stick or tongue depressor to apply it to your upper lip.
- Once dried, peel it off against the direction of your hair growth.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
Egg white
- In a medium bowl, whisk 1 egg white with ½ teaspoon of corn flour and 1 tablespoon of sugar until a smooth paste forms.
- Use your fingers to apply the paste onto your upper lip.
- When dried after about 20 minutes, gently peel it off in the opposite direction of your hair growth.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
Spearmint tea
Based on a 2007 study, many proponents of natural healing suggest drinking a cup of spearmint tea twice a day to limit the growth of facial hair.
Sugaring to remove hair from your upper lip
Sugaring or sugar waxing is the preferred method of natural upper lip hair removal for some people.
- Place four chamomile tea bags in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil.
- After boiling for 2 minutes, remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and ¼ cup of the tea-infused water. Pour this water into a separate saucepan.
- Over medium heat, add 2 cups of sugar and ¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice to the tea water until fully combined.
- Bring to a boil and reduce for a few minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it cool.
- Use a popsicle stick to spread the mixture over your upper lip.
- Place a cotton waxing strip over the area and hold it for a few seconds.
- Pull off the waxing strip quickly in the opposite direction of your hair growth.
If you don’t use all the sugaring mixture, you can store it in an airtight container until your next use.
